Moving Boxes
WHAT IS MOVING BOXES?
Our Moving Boxes initiative is a book drive centered around mobilising books from our partner organisations to underprivileged communities that have very limited reading resources.
This initiative was launched in 2019 and various organisations, including corporates and academic institutions based across South Africa took part.
HOW IT WORKS?
We place an empty box at a partner organisation’s offices and encourage the people within the organisation to donate books towards our book drive. Each partner organisation keeps the box at their location for a short period of time (usually 4 weeks), we then move the box to another location once the 4 weeks has lapsed. At the end of our literacy calendar, these books are then handed over the communities that we have identified.
HOW TO SIGN UP YOUR ORGANISATION/SCHOOL TO TAKE PART?
Send an email detailing the following:
- The name of your organisation
- The location of your organisation
- The month in which the moving box can be located at your offices (June/July/August)
- Your contact number and email address
